Hello All!

Tracy Romig
Life Events Supervisor

We have been very busy here at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home! Our gardens are providing us produce and we are enjoying the beautiful weather.

We just enjoyed a wonderful afternoon out and about on our bus trip. We hired the EARL transit bus and took a scenic trip to Guttenberg. We took 9 residents on the bus and took our two vans with 6 more residents and headed toward Guttenberg by way of Elkader. We traveled along the river and got ice cream at Joe’s Pizza. We want to thank Rozella Green for a donation along with a “pay it forward” donation to pay for our ice cream treat. We came home through Garber and up through Amish country and ended our afternoon with a swing through Backbone beach and the Backbone Bluegrass festival. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful afternoon and had lots to visit about. There were smiles all around when we returned home. We are looking forward to another trip this fall to see the leaves change color.

We are also gearing up for our County Fair Day on September 9th from 1-3pm. This event will require a lot of volunteers so if you are interested please let me know. Also, if you are looking for something to help pass your time we are always looking for volunteers to help take residents outside, read to them, pet therapy, or any activity. Please feel free to drop me a line at or by calling the office at 563-933-6037.

Have a wonderful rest of your summer!
